At times you might think Juneau’s Philip Wall pitches with a brush the way he paints corners on the plate.

Armed with pinpoint precision, the right-hander dances around the strike zone in an effort to keep batters off balance.

The strategy has worked to perfection in the collegiate Sunset League.

Wall, of Thunder Mountain High fame, won his fourth straight start with the SoCal Shepherds thanks to a solid six innings in a 12-2 win over the Inland Valley Pirates in La Mirada, California.

The 5-foot-10 180-pounder did not register a strikeout and issued one walk in 93 pitches.

Wall (4-0) has surrendered 23 hits in 23 innings, but only five earned runs, as his ERA sits at 1.96 for the summer.

He will enter his junior season at University of Northwestern-St. Paul this fall.
