Chalmers goes off in BIG3 for 19 points, hits game-winner
Desperate for a win, the 3 Headed Monsters needed of a hero.
So, they turned to Rio.
Anchorage’s Mario Chalmers pumped in a season-high 19 points and drilled a game-winning 3-pointer to seal a 52-46 win over Power in Week 9 of the BIG3 in Dallas, Texas.
The former nine-year NBA veteran converted six field goals, including three 3-pointers and his second 4-pointer of the season.
Chalmers, of Bartlett High fame, ended the game in walk-off fashion after swishing a 3-pointer to get the 3 Headed Monsters to game point.

Chalmers earned some Alaska bragging rights as the Power squad featured former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer of Juneau.
The 6-foot-9 forward and 13-year former NBA veteran did not score but grabbed a pair of rebounds.
Chalmers and Boozer are basketball royalty in Alaska, representing the state’s Mount Rushmore for hoops, along with Anchorage’s Trajan Langdon. They are the only three Alaskans to play in the NBA.
The 33-year-old Chalmers is actively seeking a return to The Association.
Chalmers last played in the NBA during the 2017-18 season for the Memphis Grizzlies. He played last season Italy’s Segafredo Virtus Bologna and led the team to its first Champions League championship.
He’s hoping his success in the BIG3 will help catapult him back into the NBA.
“It’s just a way to stay in shape and keep playing basketball,” Chalmers said. “It’s a chance to compete with guys who you once looked up to that played in the NBA or guys who you competed against in the NBA and are still competing now. It’s just good to link up every weekend and play.”
