Hickel sisters to skate for Team USA at inaugural Aurora Games
Anchorage sisters Zoe Hickel and Tori Hickel will represent the United States at the inaugural Aurora Games before heading off to play professionally in Sweden.
The Aurora Games is an all-women’s sports and entertainment festival that runs Aug. 20-25 in Albany, New York.
More than 175 athletes will take part in the festival, which will feature gymnastics, figure skating, basketball, beach volleyball, table tennis and hockey.
Team America will play Team World on the ice on Aug. 23.
Zoe Hickel, 27, and Tori Hickel, 25, last season played professional hockey together for the first time in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League. They led Calgary Inferno to the Clarkson Cup.
