Trammell runner-up at Leadville Trail 100-mile run in Colorado

Anchorage’s Chad Trammell turned in a terrific second-place finish at the Leadville Trail 100-miler in Colorado.

The men’s race featured 650 starters and took participants through the heart of the Rocky Mountains, with the race course climbing and descending 15,000 feet with elevations ranging from 9,200 to 12,620 feet

Ryan Smith of Boulder (CO) won the race in 16 hours, 33 minutes, 24 seconds and Trammell crossing some 90 minutes later in 17:56:26.

Leadville is part of the ‘Western Slam,’ which includes fellow 100-mile races Western States (CA), Wasatch Front (UT) and Angeles Crest (CA).
