Kizer orchestrates two fourth-quarter scoring drives for Luther
Luther College quarterback Parker Kizer of Palmer guided the Norse to a pair of second-half touchdowns in a 38-26 loss to Whittier College in NCAA D3 football.
The run-first signal caller rushed for a career-high 103 yards and scored on a 24-yard keeper in the fourth quarter.
Kizer, of Colony High fame, also led his team to a touchdown in the final two minutes, thanks to his career-best 68-yard run.
The sophomore had more rushing yards in the season opener (103 yards, 7 carries) than he did all of last season (100 yards, 14 carries).
The 6-foot, 200-pounder now has three career TDs on the ground.
After coming up empty on his first two drives, Kizer got things cooking with back-to-back scoring drives.
He accounted for 50 of his team’s 55 yards that he capped with a 24-yard TD run.
Then he had a hand in 73 of the 78 yards that ended with a teammate’s TD run.
