Anchorage’s Britton Clifford recorded his first three-point game as a college player to lead Whitworth University to a 3-2 win over Puget Sound in Spokane, Washington.

The senior midfielder scored in the 16th minute and then added an assist on the second goal in the 18th minute.

This was his first multi-point game in 53 career games for the NCAA D3 Pirates.

Clifford, of South High fame, has started all 10 games this year for Whitworth and that extended playing time has resulted in the greatest scoring season of his four-year college career.

He has two goals and two assists this year compared to one goal and one assist in his previous 43 games.
