Duffy throws go-ahead TD pass in fourth quarter for Dubuque
Anchorage’s Sean Duffy went 4-for-4 and orchestrated a go-ahead, fourth-quarter scoring drive that provided the University of Dubuque football team with a 20-14 win over Coe College in Iowa.
The junior quarterback accounted for 47 of 72 yards through the air, capped by a 5-yard scoring strike for his only touchdown pass of the game.
Duffy, of West High fame, finished with 14-of-23 completions for 129 yards.
In the third quarter, he led a 65-yard scoring drive that tied the game at 14-14. He was 4-of-6 for 45 yards, including a 6-yard completion to Eagle River’s Karletty Faamatuainu.
Duffy has thrown for 990 yards and 10 TDs in five games this season.
He surpassed the 3,000-yard milestone for his college career, with his 3,075 total ranking No. 9 on Dubuque’s all-time list.
As a side note, Conor Feckley of Anchorage sits No. 4 on that list with 4,700 yards. He is currently on the Dubuque coaching staff.
