Haider buries game-winning goal to help Army beat UConn
Anchorage’s Daniel Haider helped Army West Point do something on the ice that the Black Knights hockey team hadn’t done since 1989.
Haider scored the decisive goal in a 2-1 victory over Connecticut to give Army back-to-back wins against non-conference opponents to start a season for the first time in 30 years.
The sophomore forward’s backhand beauty broke a 1-1 tie late in the second period.
Haider, of South High fame, has six career goals after scoring five as a freshman.
