Ruthy Hebard of Fairbanks is back on the preseason watch list for the Katrina McClain Award, which is presented to the nation’s top power forward by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.

The University of Oregon senior was a finalist for the award last year (16.1 ppg, 9.0 rpg) after winning it as a sophomore (17.6 ppg, 9.1 rpg).

A WBCA honorable mention All-America and All-Pac-12 selection, Hebard shot an astounding 67% from the floor last season to rank second in the nation and break the school single-season record.

Hebard, of West Valley High fame, enters her final year with her name all over the Oregon career record book.

She ranks fifth all-time in rebounds (982), fifth in double-figure scoring games (94), sixth in points (1,798), sixth in double-doubles (39) and eighth in blocked shots (111).
