VanOrd provides durability for WOU, racks up 80th career point
Anchorage’s Danielle VanOrd brings flash and fundamentals to the soccer field for Western Oregon University.
A big-time offensive playmaker who sweats the small stuff, the junior forward has provided durability for the NCAA D2 Wolves of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
She played all 110 minutes and fired three shots on goal in a 1-1 draw with Northwest Nazarene in Nampa, Idaho.
VanOrd, of Bartlett High fame, ranks third on the team in shots (14) and tied for sixth in minutes (662) in eight games.
She has tallied two assists, giving her 80 points for her college career. She is Alaska’s active college points leader.
VanOrd played her first two seasons at Lane Community College, where she racked up 31 goals and 16 assists for 78 points in 37 games.
