Wilson works it in Sweden with triple-double, 35-point game
Anchorage’s Derrick Wilson brought his jump shot to Sweden.
The 6-foot-1 guard known for his defensive prowess has turned up the offense in his first season with Stockholm-based Djurgarden.
He poured in a career-high 35 points in his first game. Then he had a triple-double in his fourth game.
The former Marquette University standout collected 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a 92-84 loss to BC Lulea.
Wilson, of East High fame, ranks second in the Swedish League in scoring at 23.3 points per game and is fifth wit 5.8 assists per game.
This is the 27-year-old’s fourth pro season after spending the first three seasons in Denmark.
