Kenai’s Bethany Carstens earned her first college start in just her second game and responded with her first double-figure scoring night.
The Chicago State University freshman made 4-of-8 and finished with 10 points in an 82-50 loss to Pac-12 opponent Arizona in the windy city.
Carstens, of Nikiski High fame, logged 28 minutes and grabbed two rebounds.
The 5-foot-9 guard is shooting 68% from 3-point range after going 2-for-3 in each of her first two games.
Carstens is the lone Alaska women playing basketball in the WAC.
