Carle helps Feather River win first-ever CCCAA championship

Anchorage’s Maya Carle helped Feather River College make school history by helping the women’s volleyball team win its first tournament title in the California Community College Athletic Association.
Feather River defeated previously undefeated Irvine Valley in five sets in the championship match in Chula Vista.
Carle, of Dimond High fame, played in all 13 sets during the three tournament victories and accumulated 11 digs, five aces, and three assists.
Feather River (35-2) went 5-1 in five-set matches and closed the season with a 14-match winning streak.
The team won back-to-back 5-set matches in the semifinals and finals.
The CCCAA tournament dates to 1977.
Carle, a sophomore libero, played in all 37 matches and finished second on the team in aces (57) and third in digs (137).
