DeGeorge named to Team USA for rivalry series against Canada
Bemidji State University women’s hockey star Clair DeGeorge of Anchorage has been selected by USA Hockey to compete against Canada in the opening two games of the annual rivalry series.
The junior forward was one of 23 players and the only Alaskan picked for games tomorrow in Connecticut and Dec. 17 in Canada.
DeGeorge is one of six newcomers to Team USA. The roster features 17 players who helped the Americans capture a gold medal at the world championships.
DeGeorge is currently tied for third for Bemidji State with 10 points with two goals and eight assists.
She owns 18-37-55 scoring totals in 91 career games for the Beavers.
DeGeorge is no stranger to Team USA, having played for national age-group squads in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
In the summer of 2018, she played for the U22 national team that swept Canada in a three-game series.
In the series finale, DeGeorge bagged a goal to highlight a 2-1 victory after she redirected a one-timer on the power play in the final minute of the first period.
