Prayer drops 17 points in back-to-back Imperial Valley games
Anchorage’s Lyndon Prayer caught fire over the weekend with back-to-back 17-point games for the Imperial Valley College men’s basketball team.
The 6-foot-1 guard had averaged 10 points a game in his first seven appearances with the California Community College Athletic Association squad.
Prayer, of West High fame, has reached double figures in six of nine games and leads Imperial Valley in scoring at 11.7 points per game.
He registered a career-high 18 points a month ago, but then his scoring was a bit erratic before finding his groove this weekend.
Prayer averaged 15 points over a three-game span, thanks in part to 6-of-20 shooting from 3-point range.
