DePriest has career-high five assists in first start of the season
Palmer’s Leya DePriest made the most of her first start of the season for the Eastern Washington University women’s basketball team.
The 6-foot-3 senior center logged a season-high 29 minutes and contributed a career-high five assists to go with four points and six rebounds in a 75-58 loss to Portland State in Oregon.
DePriest, of Wasilla High fame, was one shy of her career high in rebounds.
Her five assists matched the rest of the team combined.
She has scored 47 points in 12 games compared to last year when the Denver transfer had 53 points in 30 games.
