Johnson, Alstrom each deliver season-high points for Spokane

Two Alaskans enjoyed big scoring nights for the Spokane Sasquatsh hoops team as Anchorage’s Kaeleb Johnson and Sitka’s Jamal Alstrom each registered season highs in a 99-69 win over Yakima Valley in NWAC.
Johnson pumped in 20 points to match his season high and Alstrom established a new high with 15 points.
Spokane improved to 18-4 on the season.
Johnson, of East High fame, sank 9-of-14 shots for a season-high .643 field-goal percentage. He was 2-for-4 from downtown.
The 6-foot-3 freshman cooked the defense for 18 points in the first half in just nine minutes.
He made six straight shots – four layups, a 3-pointer and a jumper.

Jamal Alstrom
Alstrom, of Mt. Edgecumbe High fame, started the game and played a team-high 30 minutes.
The 6-foot-1 sophomore drained 6-of-7 shots for a season-high .857 field-goal percentage. He made 2-of-3 triples.
This was his highest scoring game since he had 13 against Everett on Dec. 15.
Johnson ranks fourth on the team in scoring at 12.9 points per game. Alstrom is seventh at 6.9.
