Daniel Hornbuckle of Fairbanks has been a walking bucket this season for the Portland Community College men’s basketball team.

The 6-foot-1 sophomore guard ranks No. 9 in the NWAC in scoring after pouring in a career-high 34 points in a 95-87 loss to Clackamas in Oregon.

This was his fifth game with 26 points or more, fueling his team-leading 22.8 points per game scoring average.

Hornbuckle, of West Valley High fame, went 4-of-7 from 3-point line and 12-of-14 from the free-throw line. He played all 40 minutes.

He ranks fourth in the NWAC as an 88.2 percent foul shooter.
