Osborne equals Whitman record with seven 3-pointers, nets 25
Bull’s-eye 3-point specialist Trevor Osborne of Anchorage made Whitman College men’s basketball history and enjoyed a career scoring night against George Fox in Newberg, Oregon.
The senior sharpshooter equaled the school record with seven 3-pointers on his way to scoring a career-high 25 points in a 105-77 NCAA D3 win.
Osborne, of Grace Christian fame, joined Jackson Clough and Jack Stewart as the only players in school history to drain seven 3s in a game.
The 6-foot-2 guard has been amazingly accurate from deep over the last four games, making 22-of-41 3-point attempts for an impressive .537 percent.
It should no surprise as Osborne is the Whiteman record holder for career 3-point percentage (.447) and is one of four players with more than 200 career 3s.
He ranks fourth all-time in makes (221), sixth in attempts (472) and first in percentage. On four previous occasions he had made six 3s in a game.
