Buckmaster hits first college home run, already has 6 RBIs

Anchorage’s Balas Buckmaster has tapped into his power source to start the baseball season for Pierce College in Lakewood, Washington.
The leadoff hitter smacked his first college home run in the season opener and then drove in a career-high four RBIs in the second game of the NWAC season.
The 5-foot-9 sophomore outfielder already has six RBIs in the first four games. That’s more RBIs than he had all of last season.

Buckmaster, of East High fame, blasted a solo shot in the seventh inning in a 6-0 win over Shoreline.
The next day he hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to put Pierce ahead 7-6, but the bullpen gave it up and Pierce lost 8-7.
He added another RBI in a 10-8 win in the third game of the series.
