Hebard breaks Oregon’s all-time record for most field goals

It was a short night for Ruthy Hebard of Fairbanks, but she played long enough to move into the No. 1 spot on the University of Oregon women’s basketball team’s list for most field goals.

The senior forward made 5-of-9 shots and scored 10 points in 18 minutes to help the Ducks beat Colorado 101-53 in the Pac-12.

Hebard, of West Valley High fame, become Oregon’s all-time leader in made field goals with 888, passing Alison Lang (883, 1980-84).

Hebard will also break Lang’s all-time field-goal percentage record. Lang’s current mark is .590 while Hebard stands at .644 with two months to play.

No. 3 Oregon improved to 19-2 and will carry a seven-game winning streak into Monday’s matchup with No. 4 Connecticut (19-1).
