Sunny sinks seven 3-pointers en route to career-high 25 in NWAC

Catherine Sunny of Nightmute has been a nightmare lately for opposing defenses in the NWAC.
The Highline Community College women’s basketball standout has averaged 18.3 points over the last four games, highlighted by her career-high 25-point effort in a 65-61 win over South Puget Sound College.
The 5-foot-7 freshman guard made 9-of-18 field goals, including 3-of-3 shooting from 3-point land in the fourth quarter, to help Highline maintain fourth place in the NWAC’s West division.
Sunny, of Mt. Edgecumbe High fame, finished with a career-high seven 3s on 7-of-16 shooting from downtown.
Her third 3-pointer of the fourth quarter gave Highline a 59-56 lead with 3:27 left in the game.
Sunny is shooting .519 (28-for-54) from the field over the last four games, helping Highline go 3-1 in that span.
She is averaging 12.3 points in 20 games.
