Williams nets 30 points, equals career high with 7 3-pointers

With the game on the line, Anchorage’s Travante Williams dominated both ends of the floor to lead Sporting Lisbon to a big win between league leaders in Portugal.
One of the best two-way players in the Portuguese Basketball League flexed his muscles in the final two minutes as Williams scored four points – first making a free throw after a key steal and then draining a 3-pointer that provided the dagger in an 81-75 win over Benfica.
He matched his career-high with seven 3s on his way to scoring 30 points and adding six rebounds and five steals.
Williams, of Mt. Edgecumbe High fame, reached the 30-point plateau for the sixth time in his four seasons as a pro in Portugal and Georgia.
His high in Portugal is 36 set earlier this season. His career high is 50 set in 2017 in Georgia.
This was the third time the 6-foot-4 wing has made seven 3-pointers in a game. He was 7-of-14 from the field, with his final triple icing the win with 39 seconds left.

Sporting improved to 18-1 in the Portuguese League while Benfica slipped to 16-2.
Williams is in his third season in Portugal, his first with Sporting. He has been on the winning side in 90 of 101 career games in that country.
