Wuthrich’s wicked wrister helps No. 8 Boston skate by Vermont
Anchorage’s Emma Wuthrich fired a wicked wrister to score her third goal of the season and lead No. 8 Boston University to a 4-2 win versus Vermont in Hockey East.
With her team nursing a 2-1 lead early in the third period, the sophomore won a neutral-zone draw and then got the puck back a buried a wrist shot over the goaltender’s glove at the 7:27 mark.
Boston is 12-1 over the last two seasons when Wuthrich registers a point in a game.
She was credited with her second game-winning goal of the season.
Wuthrich has compiled three goals and two assists for five points in 25 games.

Last year she posted 6-4-10 totals in 37 games.
Boston (19-6-3) sits in second place in the 10-team Hockey East with 29 points, one point ahead of rival Boston College.
Boston just beat BC 4-0 in the first round of the 42nd annual Women’s Beanpot and will face Holy Cross in Saturday’s title game.
