Yeaton named Alaska Sports Hall of Fame athlete of the week

Anchorage’s Jessica Yeaton won the American Birkebeiner in dominating fashion after breaking away from the lead pack and skiing the final 20 kilometers solo. Tomsich, Dalton lead Alaska group at Olympic Marathon Trials

Tony Tomsich and Anna Dalton had Alaska’s top performances at Saturday’s U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in Atlanta. Tomsich, from Fairbanks and now living in Vancouver, Canada, placed 102nd out of 175 male finishers in 2 hours, 25 minutes and 16 seconds.
