There’s no doubt the Rochester Institute of Technology hockey team has its mojo working when Caleb Moretz of Fairbanks is on the ice.

The Tigers are 14-4-1 when Moretz records a point.

And 5-9-3 when he doesn’t.

Moretz looks to keep things rolling for RIT in the upcoming Atlantic East Tournament, his first taste of the college playoff experience.

The rookie forward was rock solid in the regular season as he furnished a goal or assist in 14 of his team’s 16 series, including the last six in a row.

Moretz, of West Valley High fame, is tied for third on his team with 24 points on nine goals and 15 assists, buoyed by a strong second half.

He has bagged 6-11-17 scoring totals in the last 20 games.

The RIT Tigers (19-13-4) are the No. 3 seed at the Atlantic Hockey Tournament and will begin the playoffs with a home series.
