Hoops standout Nix sets sights on NBA

Even though Daishen Nix played high school basketball in Las Vegas, he considers himself an Alaskan and regularly wore Alaska gear under his high school  jersey.  Daishen, who grew up in Anchorage until moving to a basketball program his freshman year, is a consensus five-star high school recruit and ranked as one of the top high school point guards in the country. He joins Trajan Langdon, Carlos Boozer, and Mario Chalmers as the only Alaskans to be chosen as a McDonald’s All American.  He previously committed to play basketball at UCLA but then opted to join the NBA G League professional pathway program, a new program that prepares elite high school players for the NBA draft.
