Seward multi-sport star Spanos to swim for Southwest Oregon

Connor Spanos excelled in multiple sports during his years at Seward High School.  He was captain of the Seahawks swim team and basketball team his senior year and would have been the captain of the track squad if the season hadn’t been canceled due to theCOVID-19 virus. Connor has been to State for swimming three years in a row.  Last fall he took third at State in the 100 Fly. Connor played varsity basketball all four years and was named Third Team 3A All-State this year.  In track, he has been to the State meet two times and likely would have been a third time this year.  His  freshman year, he was part of a championship relay that took first at State in the 4 x 4 relay. Last year Connor took second in the 400 meter and was hoping to reach the top of the podium this year.  Connor has committed to swimming at Southwest Oregon Community College and will start down his long road toward obtaining a doctorate in physical therapy. His basketball coach Al Plan had this to say about Connor: “When other people weren’t in the locker room, on the court, or in the pool, he was. The result of that hard work is showing here today as he signs to further his athletics. He is always here. He is always working hard. I think that is something we should celebrate.”
