Hockey standout DeGeorge named Alaska Athlete of the Week
October 26, 2020
Anchorage’s Clair DeGeorge was named Alaska Sports Hall of Fame’s Alaska Athlete of the Week after earning an invite to the U.S. Women’s National Hockey Team Evaluation Camp.
The 21-year-old was among 53 players invited – the only one from Alaska. DeGeorge is a senior forward at NCAA D1 Bemidji State University, where she is approaching the school’s top 10 for all-time points and assists.
She grew up playing for the Alaska All-Stars and has been in the USA Hockey player pool since the Under-18 level.
The athlete of the week recipient is selected by a panel each Friday and announced Saturday at 11 a.m. on the Sports Guys on CBS Sports Radio 590AM and 96.7FM.
