Bailey breaks out for career-high 25 points to lead Pacific win
Jeremiah Bailey of Fairbanks broke out for a 25-point performance for the University of the Pacific to lift the Tigers to a 66-60 victory over UC Riverside on opening night.
This was his best scoring night in 65 career games with the West Coast Conference squad in California.
The 6-foot-6 senior guard had his stroke working early as he knocked down 3-of-4 3-pointers on his way to scoring 12 points in the first half.
He was also especially clutch in the last 25 seconds as he drained all four free throws to ice the team’s first win of the new season.
Bailey, of Monroe Catholic High fame, started in the backcourt, played a team-high 31 minutes and added two rebounds and two steals.
His previous career high was 22 points against Pepperdine in the last game of his sophomore season. This was his seventh career double-figure outing.
