Furlong has first TD of 2020, eclipses 500 career rushing yards

Brenner Furlong of Soldotna scored his first touchdown of the season to help Dakota State University snap a two-game losing streak.

The junior running back rumbled his way to a 15-yard score late in the second quarter of a 37-28 victory over Mayville State in North Dakota.

Furlong, of Soldotna High fame, finished with eight carries and 42 yards. His 5.3 yards per carry average was the second-highest of the season.

In 24 games, he has racked up 531 yards and three touchdowns. His had another TD on special teams.
