Thor collects double figures against No. 1-ranked Gonzaga
Anchorage’s JT Thor made some personal history against the No. 1 team in college basketball.
The Auburn University freshman recorded double figures for the first time in just his second college game in a 90-67 loss to top-ranked Gonzaga at the Fort Meyers Tipoff in Florida.
The 6-foot-10 power forward scored 11 points in only 16 minutes on the strength of 7-for-7 free-throw shooting. He added three rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Thor, of West High fame, earned his second straight start.
He scored seven points and played 15 minutes before fouling out in a 96-91 win over Saint Joseph’s. He also hit his first 3-pointer.
