Anchorage’s Nino Delgado extended his unbeaten streak to eight fights after he scored a first-round knockout in Tijuana, Mexico.
Delgado, 25, finished off Ricardo Coronado with a series of body shots for his fifth lightweight division win by KO.
“Once I hit him with the first clean shot to the body, I knew he didn’t like it and I could take him out,” Delgado said.
Delgado, of East High fame, improved to 7-0-1 since turning pro in 2019.
He is currently training in Las Vegas, Nevada, with Richard Barrientes.
“The pandemic has slowed our year down a lot but as soon as things start opening up, we’re gonna be ready,” Delgado said.
