Fairbanks hooper Bailey named Alaska Athlete of the Week
Fairbanks basketball player Jeremiah Bailey earned Alaska Athlete of the Week honors after pulling down a career-high 13 rebounds and scoring 12 points for D1 University of the Pacific in a 92-64 route of Westmont.
The senior guard did his damage in just 26 minutes, giving him a double-double in back-to-back games.
The Monroe Catholic High graduate opened the season with a career-high 25-point effort and is now averaging a team-best 14.8 points per game through the first four.
The 6-foot-6 guard is also averaging a career-best 8.5 rebounds per game, thanks to his handywork on the glass.
The athlete of the week recipient is selected by a panel each Friday and announced Saturday at 11 a.m. on the Sports Guys on CBS Sports Radio 590AM and 96.7FM.
