Saville picks up win in relief to help Omaha win slugfest 6-5

Anchorage’s Isaiah Saville turned aside 14 of 15 shots in 31 minutes of relief as the 17th-ranked Omaha Mavericks survived Western Michigan in a 6-5 slugfest.
The sophomore goaltender replaced starter Austin Roden midway through the second period, with the Mavs down 4-2.
Saville, of West High fame, improved to season record to 4-3 and lowered his goals against average to 2.26.
He has allowed exactly one goal in four of his last five appearances, making huge strides to overcome two tough outings this season and showing why he was picked in the fifth round of the 2019 NHL draft.
A week ago, he bagged 31 saves in a 6-1 win over Colorado College.
Ten times Saville has made at least 30 saves in a game, highlighted by his career-high 45-save gem last season against Denver.
