Panoam notches double digits for UND for first time since 2019
When given a chance to shine, Bentiu Panoam of Anchorage sparkled for the University of North Dakota with his best offensive output in 13 months.
The senior came off the bench to notch season highs of 11 points and 23 minutes against Oral Roberts for his first double-figure scoring effort since 2019 and fourth in 40 games with the NCAA D1 Fighting Hawks.
This was also the fourth time with North Dakota that he’s made a 3-pointer and free throw in the same game.
Panoam, of Bartlett High fame, almost logged as many minutes in this game (23) as he did in the previous four combined (29).
The 6-foot-2 guard made the most of his extended playing time.
He went 4-for-10 from the field including an and-1 basket. He drained two 3-pointers, grabbed two rebounds and added one assist.
His career scoring high of 25 came as a freshman with Northwest Kansas Tech and his high game at the D1 level is 18 points.
