Anchorage’s Estee Frantz has always had a knack for scoring goals, so it should come as no surprise that she found the back of the net in her first hockey game of the 2021 season.

The University of St. Thomas forward lit the lamp five minutes into the first period of a 5-2 road win over Saint Benedict in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

This was the most goals scored by a St. Thomas team on opening day in 13 years.

Frantz, of South High fame, has four goals in her last five games dating to last season, increasing her scoring totals to 17-10-27 in 82 career games for the D3 school.

The senior skater is coming off a career-best eight goals last season and ranks among Alaska’s active college scoring leaders with 17 goals.
