Walker has three assists for St. Cloud State in 6-2 win at NCAAs

Anchorage’s Nolan Walker set up the go-ahead goal late in the second period on his way to a three-point game for St. Cloud State in a 6-2 win over Boston University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Walker started at center and racked up a playmaker with three primary assists to help St. Cloud win its first postseason game since 2015.
The junior forward also reached the 60-point plateau for his college career, moving into the top-25 among Alaskans at the D1 level.
Walker assisted on Micah Miller’s goal that tied the game at 1-1 at the 12:14 mark.
With four minutes left in the second period, he set up Easton Brodzinski for a 3-2 lead the Huskies never relinquished.
His third assist came on another Brodzinski goal at the 10:04 mark of the third period that made it 5-2.
St. Cloud advanced to Sunday’s elite eight matchup against No. 2 tournament seed Boston College, which advanced over Notre Dame after the Irish dropped out of the NCAA Tournament due to COVID protocols.
The winner advances to the Frozen Four April 8-10 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
