Ross places 23rd at XTerra World Championship in Hawaii

Will Ross of Anchorage placed 23rd among 390 men at the XTerra World Championship in Kapalua, Hawaii. Arneson shatters 12 Peak Challenge record

Lonnie O’Connor Iditarod Basketball Tournament

(2018 by Don Stiles) For more than 40 years, people from all over Alaska have come for the weeklong Lonnie O’Connor Iditarod Basketball Tournament. In the early years more than 60 teams participated. The tournament’s appeal rivals that of the Iditarod crowds and adds to the already bustling environment in Nome.
