Eagle River’s Kelsey Griffin of the Connecticut Sun fights for control of the ball during last night’s 82-70 loss to the Chicago Sky, snapping the Sun’s 9-game winning streak. Griffin, of Chugiak High fame, came off the bench to deliver 5 points and 4 rebounds.

Blackburn All-Academic for third time [Track]

Recent Air Force Academy graduate Paige Blackburn of Soldotna has been named to the U.S. Track and Field All-Academic Team for a third time, the school announced today. The reigning Mountain West champion in the javelin completed her four-year career with a 3.50 GPA in civil engineering.
