After three straight years as the runnerup, the UAF riflery team won its first NCAA Championship in 1994, launching a dynasty that saw the Nanooks claim 10 national championships in 15 years. UAF defeated six-time national champion West Virginia by seven points to trigger a reign of excellence that included six straight NCAA titles from 1999-2004.
